Options

The tuition is open-ended as regards results. You may wish to take it only as far as a reading proficiency or further to an academic qualification, either GCSE (or equivalent) or A Level. If tutorials are not possible a distance learning format is also available. This would involve contact via e-mail for individual assignments. A tutorial e-mail address will be supplied on request.

Charges

An assignment will cost £15 and a tutorial £25, payable on completion. A tutorial will last a full hour and an assignment will consist of homework set, completed and assessed. The first two assignments will be free of charge to gauge reaction and so will the first tutorial. In the case of a GCSE (or equivalent) or A Level course charging will be by term, or ten weeks, at a discount of 10%, that is at £135 for assignments and £225 for tutorials, payable in advance. There will be an extra charge for any travel costs and for registration with examination boards.

An Acknowledgement

I am deeply indebted to John Randall who in his 'Learning Latin', first published in 1986, emphasized the importance of original texts. His approach allowed me personally to gain a foothold in real Latin.

About Myself

I hold a BA (Honours) Degree in History from London University and have been tutoring in and around Hemel Hempstead since 1987. Latin has been a later addition to my original subjects of English and History and has now replaced them.
